Chinese cordyceps or Chinese clubfoot (Cordyceps sinensis) is a species of parasitic fungus. Unlike other beneficial Asian mushrooms, it does not grow on trees, but occurs in the ground. Its main medium is the moth larvae found there, which the clubfly first attacks, occupies and kills, and then draws from them the nutrients needed for development.
