Rhodiola rosea is a perennial perennial found mainly in northern and central Asia, but also in the mountain regions of Europe and subarctic areas of North America. In our country, it occurs naturally in the crevices of limestone rocks of the Sudetes and Carpathians. The name rhododendron refers to the characteristic rose scent of the rhizome and the pink color that appears inside, when broken.

Rhodiola rosea extract is a source of many active substances that have a positive effect on the functioning of the body, among which the most important are cinnamon alcohol derivatives, collectively known as rosavins, and salidroside, which is a phenolic compound. In addition, Rhodiola rosea extract is also a treasury of other substances beneficial for the body: mono- and triterpenes, flavonoids, essential oils and polyphenols - such as gallic and chlorogenic acids.


How does Rhodiola Rosea work?
Rhodiola rosea is one of the adaptogens, i.e. a group of plant-derived substances that increase resistance to stress and maintain the body's balance. Like other adaptogens, it increases the body's resistance to stressors, supporting the nervous and immune systems. In addition, it helps maintain the proper functioning of the circulatory system, thus providing cells with the right amount of oxygen and nutrients. The health-promoting effect of Rhodiola Rosea was noticed thousands of years ago in China, where the plant is successfully used in traditional medicine. Traces of the use of this plant can also be found among the ancient Greeks and Romans, as well as the Scandinavian Vikings.


What standardization and origin of the extract?
In order to be sure that the product is based on a high-quality extract and comes from the right botanical source, attention should be paid to the standardization of the extract and the ratio of rosavins to salidroside. A characteristic feature of the Rhodiola rosea species is the ratio of rosavins to salidroside equal to 3: 1. Products that have a different ratio of the two substances, or those in which only one of the compounds has been standardized, may contain a poor quality extract obtained from other plant species belonging to the genus Rhodiola, and not from Rhodiola rosea. The extract contained in our product was produced in Europe and comes from the Rhodiola Rosea species - therefore it has a proper ratio of rosavins to salidroside equal to 3: 1 and high double standardization for 3% rosavins and 1% salidroside.
