Wild oregano oil is a rich source of Vitamin A and C, flavonoids and phenols, including carvacrol, which is a well-known aroma of oregano.

The carvacrol content depends on the plant chemotype, subspecies, but also the region, the quality of the harvest, the parts of the plant used and even the exact time of harvesting of the oregano.

The most popular are oregano oils with a carvacrol content of 60% -70%. Higher concentrations can only be achieved by using innovative rectification processes. Rectification also known as fractional distillation - from the physical point of view it is a cascade (multi-level) distillation in which each stage of the process is fed with the product (distillate) of the previous process. This process is repeated until the desired concentration is obtained.

Oils with the addition of synthetic carvacrol

There are also oils that are mixes of natural oregano oils along with synthetic carvacol derived from D-limonene. Synthetic oils have a different smell and taste different. Oils with oregano, present as a mixture of natural and synthetic carvacol, contain up to 35% natural and 65% synthetic carvacrol. Apart from the difference in taste and aroma, oregano oil containing an admixture of synthetic carvacrole is also poorer in other valuable ingredients naturally present in the plant.

Aliness Wild Oregano Oil Strong is 100% natural oregano oil with a high content of 90% carvacrol. The product contains only natural carvacrol, and such a high concentration was obtained thanks to the use of only a physical rectification process, i.e. fractionation based on the relative volatility of the ingredients and thanks to the use of appropriate parts of the highest quality plants. None are used during production.
Rectification is a completely physical process, meaning no additional chemicals are used. The obtained oregano oil is free from residues of harmful solvents used in traditional solvent extractions.
