What is Bepanthen Sensiderm Daily Care cream and when should I use it?
Bepanthen Sensiderm Daily Care is a cream designed for use in people with sensitive skin. It helps to soothe skin prone to eczema.
The unique Dermo-Defence formula of Bepanthen Sensiderm Daily Care cream introduces a new dimension of protection for sensitive skin.  The cream can be used as often as needed, by applying a thin layer on sensitive / eczema-prone skin, during the period free from exacerbations.
Enriched with prebiotic and sea buckthorn oil, the cream provides long-lasting hydration, strengthens the skin barrier and supports the skin's normal microflora, which is one of the elements of your natural defence. 

What are the mechanisms underlying the skin barrier?
The skin is a very effective protective structure that consists of many different layers. The skin's first line of defence is its microflora, which is located on the outermost surface of the skin and prevents harmful bacteria from colonising and multiplying on the skin. The second line of defence is the stratum corneum, also known as the skin barrier, whose role is to prevent the skin from drying out.

How does Bepanthen Sensiderm Daily Care cream support defence mechanisms of the skin barrier?
Thanks to the Dermo-Defence formula, Bepanthen Sensiderm Daily Care cream helps protect the skin and keep it healthy in four ways, by providing:
- A prebiotic proven to support healthy microflora, which is part of the skin's natural defence mechanisms.
- Natural oils (olive oil, sea buckthorn oil), vitamin B3 and panthenol to form a formula that supports the skin's natural barrier lipids for lasting protection.
- Lipids (e.g. ceramides) with a lamellar structure resembling that of naturally occurring lipids in the skin barrier and which have been obtained through the use of lamellar lipid technology (LLT - Lipid Lamellar Technology).
- Physiological humectants, such as panthenol (provitamin B5) and glycerine, which provide long-lasting hydration.

This makes it possible to effectively support the natural protective mechanisms of the skin barrier to maintain healthy skin and ensure its protection for a longer period of time without the appearance of exacerbated conditions of extreme dryness of the skin.
