Vitamin D helps to maintain healthy bones, teeth and normal blood calcium levels. Supports the proper functioning of muscles and the immune system. It supports the proper absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus, and also participates in the process of cell division.


The body produces vitamin D by skin synthesis, under the influence of UV solar radiation. In the summer, however, this synthesis is limited due to the use of cosmetics with UV filters and recommended for older people and pregnant women to avoid excessive exposure to the sun. In the autumn-winter period, the synthesis of vitamin D in the skin is limited due to reduced sun exposure. In people over 65 years of age, there is also a marked reduction in vitamin D skin synthesis.
