How to survive the summer vacation period?

Summer is about to begin - the weather is starting to spoil us and encourage us to enjoy outdoor recreation. As we catch the vacation vibe, it becomes increasingly difficult to motivate ourselves to stay consistent with working hard on our body. Frequent barbecues, ice-creams, which are irreplaceable in hot weather, or blissful "doing nothing" outdoors are a perfect mix to make us lose our hard-earned results.

But it doesn't have to be like that at all! The most important thing is to maintain a balance between what is healthy and what is enjoyable. Increasingly, people are talking about adhering to the 80-20 rule. In a nutshell: if you follow a healthy diet 80% of the time and stick strictly to your diet, then the other 20% of the time you can indulge a little. E.g. if you eat 5 meals a day and 4 of them are balanced and aligned with your diet, the last one can be a meal for pleasure. If you stick to your diet 6 days a week, then a one-day deviation because of a barbecue with friends will not derail your achievements. However, remember to approach the subject honestly - without cheating yourself.

Same goes for workouts. Although the summer weather does not encourage you to sit in the gym, it is worth keeping up your training routine. However, in order to get a feel of the vacation vibe, we suggest reducing the number or intensity of your workouts a little and placing more emphasis on spontaneous physical activity.

If you have been unfamiliar with a balanced diet and physical activity up to now, use this time to start changing things up - with the typical summer attitude, it will certainly be easier to get started.
