Vitamin D3 is involved in metabolic processes, its deficiency adversely affects health. The task - the most important - of vitamin D3 in the body
it is human to maintain an adequate level of bone and tooth mineralization and to control calcium and phosphorus metabolism. Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin
and is therefore stored in the body.

There are two forms of vitamin D:
D2 (ergocalciferol), vegan vitamin D, vegetable origin, found in the greatest amount in yeast and vegetables, this form of vitamin D is poorly absorbed;
D3 (cholecalciferol), animal origin, found in the greatest amount in sea fish, sea fish, liver, eggs, dairy products, the highest concentration of vitamin D3 occurs on sheep's hair and hence is obtained for dietary supplements (lanolin cholecalciferol).

Vitamin D3 regulates the calcium and phosphorus balance, its deficit may contribute to the development of problems with the musculoskeletal system, including osteoporosis, osteomalacia and rickets. Especially menopausal women are exposed to osteoporosis due to hormonal changes. Without vitamin D3, babies as young as two months old can develop rickets, leading to serious developmental disorders. The body is able to produce vitamin D3 itself, but provided that the skin is exposed to a sufficient dose of sunlight (between 10.00 a.m. and 2 p.m., from May to September in Poland), and this is not available in the modern world. About 80% of Poles are deficient in vitamin D3, and many are seriously deficient.
