Although the knowledge about specific healing or care products is not included in the elementary knowledge that a human should have, it is worth knowing that essential oils have their origin in ancient Egypt, Macedonia or India. Essential oil is a fragrance extracted from special cells of secretory tissue of plants. It has many functions what resulted in creating a separate field called aromatherapy. It can also be used as a body care product. In addition, it works great as an air freshener or as a washing accessory, giving the clothes a special fragrance.
Fragrances contained in oils not only restore spiritual balance, but also have antibacterial, antiviral and anti-aging effects, and are a valuable source of active ingredients and vitamins, whose presence strengthens the protection of our body. Natural essential oils are also called "natural home medicine", because they have a healing effect, and in the context of amount of time needed to see the results, compared to traditional pharmaceuticals, they bring immediate results.
As the oils are found in every part of the plant, i.e. in flowers, stem, roots, seeds or resin (of course not in identical amounts), we should also mention the method of obtaining oils. Essential oils are produced in many ways, usually as a result of distillation using steam, by cold pressing or extraction with alcohol. What's interesting and worth noting is the fact that for aromatherapy purposes, they only use a small part of the obtained essential oils, only about 10%, while the rest is used by pharmaceutical and food companies as well as by perfume producers.
APPLICATION OF ESSENTIAL OILS
Essential oils are used primarily in aromatherapy, a process involving the use of plant materials and aromatic vegetable oils, including essential oils to improve mental or physical well-being. We can encounter them primarily during massage, inhalation, sauna baths, as well as in the care products for the body, skin or hair. Additionally, essential oils of natural origin bring effective therapeutic results, and are an excellent form of cleansing.
Turning to the practical part, the most common use of essential oil is the use of a ceramic aromatherapy fireplace, in that the top part of the fireplace fills with your favorite oil, while in the lower part you put a heater, eg a candle. Essential oil can also be used with an air humidifier, and the only thing you should do is to pour a few drops of essential oil into a container of water. As a result, the humidifier will spread the mist together with the diluted oil. Massage is another way to use essential oil, because the oil gets into the bloodstream through contact with the skin. The massage expands the capillaries of the skin and tissues, which means that the essential oil is able to get into every part of the body fairly quickly.
Is there anyone who after a long day wouldn't want to relax, take a long and hot bath?
Apart from the fact that according to popular imagination, the indicated way of relaxation is preferred mainly by female representatives, rather than male, it should be mentioned that essential oil is actually used both by men and women, because even a small amount of essential oil added to hot water will create a steam with a relaxing and calm effect.
