What causes prostate trouble?
Symptoms of the prostate result from its enlargement. The prostate, or the prostate gland, increases in volume due to the decrease in the level of androgens (mainly testosterone). This hormone has the ability to accumulate in the prostate, where it can be transformed into the very potent DHT hormone. This, in turn, binds to special receptors in the cells of the prostate gland, stimulating them to grow and divide strongly, as a consequence of which the risk of prostate hypertrophy and the appearance of neoplastic changes increases.
