High dose of easily assimilable zinc of natural origin
It is an element which is very necessary for maintaining homeostasis of the whole organism. Zinc is involved in the production of proteins and nucleic acids, which are mainly responsible for carrying and storing genetic information. In the human body, this micronutrient occurs in small quantities. Zinc absorption from the diet varies from 10 to 40% and takes place in the small intestine.
The main source of the microelement are cereal products (30-40%) and meat, cold cuts and fish (28-34%). It is also found in large quantities in oysters and mussels. In addition, trace amounts of zinc can be found in chickpeas, shrimps, milk and walnuts.
In conditions of zinc deficiency, the absorption of zinc from the diet increases, as well as the reabsorption of zinc secreted with pancreatic juice and bile into the intestine. Zinc deficiency causes many undesirable skin changes.
Risk groups for zinc deficiency are children, pregnant women, alcoholics, vegans and the elderly.
Regular zinc supplementation contributes to: proper functioning of the immune system, protection of cells against oxidative stress, maintenance of healthy and strong bones, regulation of serum testosterone levels, eye health, and fertility.
