Aliness Omega 3-6-9 is a composition of natural oils that provides essential unsaturated fatty acids omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 in optimal proportions. The product contains fish oil obtained from European anchovy - rich in EPA and DHA acids, as well as vegetable oils - linseed and sunflower, which are a valuable source of α-linolenic (ALA), linoleic and oleic acids. The product is available in an accessible soft capsule form.
Each
Aliness Omega 3-6-9 capsule provides:
270 mg of omega-3 fatty acids, including 150 mg ALA, 72 mg EPA and 48 mg DHA.
225 mg of omega-6 fatty acids in the form of linoleic acid
50 mg of omega-9 acids in the form of oleic acid
What are omega acids?
Omega acids is the common name for a group of essential unsaturated fatty acids (EFAs). In their molecules, there is at least one double bond (unsaturated) between carbon atoms in the carbon chain. The number suffix indicates, however, at which carbon atom from the end of the chain such a bond is located
OMEGA acids are...
NECESSARY - because in contrast to saturated fatty acids, our body is not able to produce them itself, and they are needed at many levels of its functioning. Therefore, they must be provided in adequate amounts in food.
NON-SATURATED - which means that in the molecules of these acids, there is at least one double bond between the carbon atoms in the carbon chain. The number suffix -3, -6 or -9 means that the last such double bond is located at the third, sixth or ninth carbon atom from the end of the chain.
Omega fatty acids have a beneficial effect on health:
- DHA and EPA contribute to normal heart function*.
- DHA supports normal vision and brain function
- Alpha-linolenic acid contributes to normal brain and nerve cell development
- Alpha-linolenic, linoleic and oleic acids help to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels
**A beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA
**A beneficial effect occurs with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA
Triglycerides vs Esters
Omega fatty acids can be delivered to the body in a variety of chemical forms - such as free form, triglycerides or esters. The fatty acids that are naturally found in food are overwhelmingly present in the form of triglycerides, being part of fats, and to a small extent are present as free fatty acids. The triglyceride form is therefore the natural form of omega fatty acids.
On the market one can also find dietary supplements and medicinal products based on omega acids in the form of ethyl esters (esterified form). It is an artificial form of omega fatty acids, obtained on the basis of chemical synthesis, in which natural triglycerides are broken down to free fatty acids, in order to then transform them through a chemical process of esterification into ethyl esters of appropriate fatty acids. Esterification of fatty acids is a solution commonly used in pharmacy, mainly due to the possibility of obtaining raw materials with strictly desired and repeatable parameters, and consequently easier application in complicated technological processes as well as easier storage.
However, in everyday supplementation it is more beneficial to use the form of omega fatty acids in the form of triglycerides, which is a natural component occurring in the same form in food, and therefore best recognized and tolerated by the body.
Our omega fatty acids are found only in their natural triglyceride form and are free from synthetically esterified forms. The oil is encapsulated in a protective atmosphere which makes the capsules easy to store at room temperature.
