What is Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska and when is it used?
Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska is an aqueous solution designed to be sprayed in the nose. It is used to moisturise and cleanse the nasal mucosa, also as part of the complementary treatment of colds and hay fever. In addition, Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska protects against dryness of the nose due to dry air in centrally heated or air-conditioned rooms, smoke or dust. 

Why is it so important to clean and moisturise the nose?
Viral or bacterial infections, unfavourable weather conditions or dry air in centrally heated rooms, the effects of medication or an excessive dust content in the air often lead to damage of the ciliary epithelium and an excessive drying of the nasal mucosa. Older people also suffer from a loss of moisture in the nasal mucosa. Only an intact, i.e. constantly moist nasal mucosa can best resist attacks by aggressive external factors. The use of sea water as a nasal spray in such cases is important because it causes long-term moistening of the nasal mucosa and thus protects it against excessive dryness, prevents secretions from drying out and does not impair the function of the ciliary epithelium.

How does Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska work?
Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska is an isotonic salt solution, i.e. the salt content of the seawater has been reduced (=to isotonic concentration). What does it mean that the solution is isotonic? The isotonicity of the salt solution means that the physical properties of Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska correspond to the physical properties of the natural salt in the cells of the nasal mucosa. The nasal mucosa is gently cleansed without drying out. The dexpanthenol contained in the product has additional protective properties against moisture loss and covers the nasal mucous membrane with a thin layer so that the tissue can regenerate naturally. The use of Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska moisturises the dry nasal mucosa, which maintains its natural defensive properties. During a cold, Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska liquefies the mucus and cleanses the nose, so the nasal mucosa can regenerate quickly.

What does Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska contain?
Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska is an aqueous solution of sea salt brought to isotonic concentration with the addition of dexpanthenol. Potassium hydrogen phosphate and dipotassium hydrogen phosphate have been used as excipients to maintain the natural pH value of the solution. Bepanthen® Baby Woda Morska does not contain preservatives or carrier gas.
