N°1 Butyric Acid contains microencapsulated sodium butyrate standardized for butyric acid content. Butyric acid itself is produced in the body from certain types of fiber by bacteria in the large intestine. It is used by intestinal epithelial cells to obtain energy. It is also found in some types of food, but it is metabolized quite quickly in the stomach and does not enter the intestines.
