Vitamin B1 is a water-soluble substance, also known as thiamine.

Vitamin B1 thiamine:
  • contributes to the normal course of mental (psychological) functions,
  • Contributes to maintaining normal energy metabolism,
  • helps in correct functioning of nervous system,
  • helps in correct functioning of heart,
  • contributes to the proper maintenance of bone, teeth, hair, and skin and nail health
  • contributes to correct energy metabolism,
  • supports metabolism of macronutrients.
Thiamine pyrophosphate (coenzymated cocarboxylase) is a coenzyme of pyruvate dihydrogenase, alphacetoglucarate and transketolase. The first two enzymes are important for the metabolism of pyruvate in the Krebs cycle and form the basis for energy production from food. Transketolase is a key player in the metabolic pathway known as the pentose-phosphate pathway - it produces NADPH, used for the production of fatty acids, steroid hormones, among others, as well as components for the synthesis of nucleic acids, electron transporters (necessary for the production of ATP; NAD+, FAD). Pyrophosphate is also highly concentrated in cells of the nervous system and muscles, as essential for the production of nerve impulses and conscious muscle movement.

Dosage

Portion recommended for consumption during the day: 1 capsule. Vitamin B1 should be taken with or after a meal, by 16.00 at the latest.
