Borage oil is a nutritious oil that consists of 60% polyunsaturated fats and about twice the average content of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) than evening primrose oil.

GLA is an essential fatty acid that the body can make from dietary linoleic acid; however, it can be used more effectively for bodily functions when it is obtained directly from food sources. Studies have shown that borage oil does not contain harmful levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). NOW® Borage Oil is pressed from an expeller and does not contain hexane.
